Residential Interior Design Category Projects with an emphasis on design creativity and/or a challenging design/layout, etc. Project #27: Modern KitchenSet beneath an open loft, this ultra-modern North Tacoma kitchen shines among the rest. Gorgeous ash-stained cabinetry paired with ample storage and a thoughtful layout, makes this kitchen the perfect combination of function and beauty. By creating a dedicated workspace in the center island that features its own prep sink, built in microwave, and abundance of storage, this allows the surrounding kitchen to remain free of clutter. With its unique placement, this kitchen allowed for a creative look and layout considerations. They wanted a “kitchen to make them fall in love with their house again” and that’s exactly what they received! Company: Founder's Choice Cabinets + Countertops (253) 475-5544 Project #28: The FamilY Kitchen"Welcome, come on in and make yourself at home" is what this kitchen says. These clients asked for more usable counter space, more storage and a modern farmhouse family kitchen. These barnwood wrapped columns add a unique architectural detail and visual interest. Extending the island and lowering the counter create a very usable counter and allows stools to be stowed better. Removing the wall between the butlers’ pantry and kitchen allowed for more counter at the cooking wall and made it possible to move the oven out of the traffic area. Plenty of carefully placed storage units everywhere make this truly a family kitchen meant for everyone to enjoy. Company: Signature Design & Cabinetry - Crystal Delgado (253) 627-0805 Project #29: Tutor Kitchen + BAth RemodelThis 1970’s Tutor home needed an update. The client wanted to enlarge both the kitchen/living room areas and also create a new master bathroom suite. In the kitchen area, all the interior walls were removed and a 10-foot addition to the back of the house was added. Beautiful custom cabinetry, granite countertops, ceramic tile & glass backsplash, Kohler sinks, polished nickel faucets & built in professional appliances were used in the new kitchen. The long, narrow master bedroom & bath were redesigned to create a new master suite. Separate vanities, a new pedestal tub and tiled shower and walls added a spa-like feel. Beautiful gray cabinetry, Pental Quartz countertops, tile flooring, a beautiful ceramic tile shower with glass panels transformed the room. New closets in the bedroom area accommodate the overflow from the walk-in closet. These changes achieved the clients wishes of a new and inviting home to live and entertain their family and friends. Company: Signature Design & Cabinetry - Shiela Off (253) 627-0805 Project #30: Rock Crystal BathThis inviting bath is ingenious with its creative floor plan and use of materials. The bath formerly was split into two rooms and had too many doors. Moving walls and adding a skylight gave new life to this small space. Making a broad visual footprint in this small 80 square-foot bath gave it an open feel by elevating items off the floor such as the vanity, toilet and shower bench. The shower has a curbless entry and all floors are heated. Finishes are distinctive: glass counter and sink, a high-arc faucet, sconces that look like rock crystals, Zebrano marble and floor tile that mimics leather. Company: DeMane Design (253) 973-8442
